Article III Judges
United States District Judges
Article III of the Constitution outlines the processes for appointing, tenuring, and compensating Supreme Court justices, as well as federal circuit and district judges. These judges, commonly known as “Article III judges,” are nominated by the president and must be confirmed by the U.S. Senate.
Magistrate judges serve as judicial officers of the U.S. district courts and are appointed by the district judges of the court to oversee various judicial proceedings.
