Many of today`s youth take their U.S. citizenship for granted. A great way to help educate students on both their privileges and duties as U.S. Citizens is to involve them in a Naturalization Ceremony. Naturalization Ceremonies grant citizenship to those immigrants wanting to become permanent residents of the United States of America, and is one of the most coveted gifts that the U.S. government can bestow. As part of the one-hour long ceremony, choirs perform the National Anthem and God Bless America. Scout troops interested in participating can lead the Pledge of Allegiance to a group of new United States Citizens. This can be part of your scout’s citizen awareness and citizen merit badges.
As well as the Naturalization Ceremony, the Court offers organized guided tours which are worth considering. Each tour, in its own unique way, offers a solid educational value and can be customized to fit your class schedule.
